Toledo Ohio Wedding. Toledo Botanical Gardens & Downtown Sylvania.

Before I began offering weddings under my brand, I did a LOT of learning. One of the best ways to learn is by working with other photographers as a second shooter. Many photographers offer wedding day coverage that includes a second, or even third, photographer. This means a variety of perspectives will enrich your wedding day coverage. It also means that one photographer can hang with the guys while they get ready, and one with the gals. The most important thing that a second shooter provides is a backup. As a firm believer in Murphy's Law, I'll be the first to admit things can, and will, go wrong. Equipment malfunctions are not rare and miscommunication can cause mix ups. Special moments can happen without warning while a photographer is changing a lens. Having a second shooter means that even if a mishap occurs, there is an extra person working to document your day and keep your images safe.

Seeing as it is horrifically cold in Northwest Ohio right now, I decided to look back at this cute wedding I second shot with Meg of Simply Captivating Photography. Despite how composed everyone looks, this was one of the hottest days of the summer. The couple had a lovely wedding planned outside at the Toledo Botanical Garden. The day was 95 degrees and the ceremony was set up in the sun. Umbrellas were passed to some of the older attendees, and many stood beneath trees until the ceremony was about to start. As you can see from the photos, the ceremony was breathtaking and completely worth the heat. Before the reception, the wedding party headed to downtown Sylvania to do more photos. We had a variety of locations to choose from and everyone had fun exploring.

The reception was held at LaRoy's Hall in La Salle Michigan. A beautiful event, it was a pleasure to work with Meg and her couple, Katie and Nick. I hope you enjoy this peek into their wedding day. Be sure to pin and share your favorite images!
