Just wanted to share a few snaps from the last wedding I worked at with RKB Photography! Ryan has some of the coolest couples. Jessica and Scott got married on May 4th… If you are a Star Wars fan, you might know the day by its punny fan phrase, “May the Fourth Be with You”. Jessica admitted that she is not a huge fan, but that Scott is. Jessica had a special Star Wars garter as a surprise for him at the reception.

I was only with Ryan for the getting ready, ceremony and formal portraits. I did not get to document the reception but I did get to document this couple’s perfect bubble exit! St. Mary’s church in Wakeman, Ohio has this amazing metallic ceiling. It gave a really different look to the sanctuary. I loved getting to experiment with the patterns. I hope you enjoy seeing a bit of their day from my perspective!

Working with other local photographers keeps me practicing my craft on the weekends I do not have my own weddings. I take the opportunity to try new things, learn something new and get to photograph a wide variety of locations. Every weekend there is a new challenge. I see many different problems, hiccups, weather and light situations. Each difficulty or new experience makes me a better professional. I learn what to plan for, how to be flexible and what to coach my couples to consider when planning their day. No matter what industry you are in, don’t forget to try new things!
