“I was amazed by how efficient the process was for that great of a final product. The photo-taking process went very fast, which is I was a little worried might lower the quality afterwards, but the pictures turned out excellent. I’m not used to looking good in photos, but each photo that she took proved that it is possible for me to look good in photos.”

Olivia was truly a dream to work with. She has a beautiful smile and great sense of style. She also adores her sweet senior dog, Maizy. Olivia is a 2021 graduate from Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio. She was planning to schedule her photos in the fall but it ended up working out perfectly to have a spring session.
Joel is a Maumee Valley Country Day School graduate as of this past May. He just started his first semester at Ithaca College and is studying Cinema Production. Wildwood Metropark in Toledo was the location of choice for Joel’s senior photos. Not only did I get to photograph Joel, I got to photograph Joel with his dog, Indy. Including pets in a senior’s photo session is something I am always happy to accommodate. Joel was comfortable in front of the camera and could switch his smile on and off seamlessly. He let me incorporate some dramatic lighting and he was able to help Indy pose with him.
Isabella is a self-taught makeup guru and her look was flawless. Bella also does modeling, and working with her was a dream. She knew exactly what to do, and how to look great. I never expect this from my seniors, but it definitely makes my job easier. Bella is truly beautiful, inside and out, and I feel that we captured her personality perfectly.
The best part about Lauren’s clothing choices was that they matched. She chose one color scheme for her whole photo shoot. Black and white were a perfect fit for her elegant personality. Choosing a color scheme, can make outfit choices much less stressful. When you are required to follow a theme, it is less likely you will become overwhelmed by all of your options. This idea can be applied to family photo sessions and headshots as well.
I really enjoy working with guys because they come as they are. They don’t have quite as many concerns about wearing the magazine-worthy outfit that some celebrity said they should. I have worked with several who knew how to dress. They looked put together, and they chose pieces that showed off their own style and made them feel comfortable. I have also worked with several young men who struggled to pick more than one look. I enjoy being able to learn a little bit about each, and coach them in their wardrobe choices when needed.
What is one thing you could never live without? (Ian {boyfriend} says that it was be McDonald's for me haha!) I think it would have to be photos. Photos make it possible for generations to pass along to the next generation an idea of what it was like while they were growing up and they also help you to not forget someone and what they look or looked like. They are amazing little memories of life.
A.J. graduated from Findlay High School last spring! A.J. is a super hard worker and he loves playing rugby! He has a classic style but we had to work on some jokes to get a genuine smile out of him. Overall we had a great time exploring Riverbend Park in Findlay and taking his pictures. For the last part of our session, we headed to the sports field where A.J. and his team play rugby. I think it is so great that A.J. chose to play a less common sport, and a tough one at that!
Our first stop was Middlegrounds Metropark. Middlegrounds is a fairly new addition to the riverfront in Toledo, combining the urban with the natural. After Middlegrounds, we headed to Adams Street to view some of the amazing murals painted there. We also stopped at the Toledo Lucas County Main Library for a few great shots outside the building. Cameron's session truly displays the diversity that can be found in Downtown Toledo.
Autumn is nearly upon us. I have seen memes flooding the internet, counting the days to cooler weather, crunchy leaves, trick-or-treat, and, of course, the return of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. People in the midwest really love the Fall!
Corina chose three beautiful outfits! She claims that outfit number two (sheer with flowers) was her favorite, but I think she totally rocked all three! The Alice in Wonderland themed tank top was so cute and the dress... With those gorgeous shoes! Corina clearly has great fashion sense.
I had a blast with Jessica and McKenzie as we sent them off to prom! Jessica, her mom, McKenzie and I all met at Rachel Christensen's place early in the afternoon. Getting ready for prom is serious business. Both Jessica and McKenzie are graduating seniors this spring. McKenzie attends Lake High School and Jessica was invited to go to prom with her. Both girls being seniors, this was their last opportunity to attend!
Jessica was put in the hot seat first as Rachel did her makeup. Be sure to check out Rachel's work on her Instagram account! As soon as Jessica's face was finished, I began curling her hair. Meanwhile, Mckenzie got Rachel's full attention. I also helped McKenzie with her curls. Let me tell you, she has a LOT of hair! Officially I was just there to take pictures... But I got roped into styling hair as well. How can you say no to your sister-in-law?
Finally the girls put on their dresses and shoes and jewelry. Wow! As you can see below, these two were absolutely stunning for their senior prom! I really enjoyed being able to see them off and grab some photos to document the occasion!
