Memorial Day weekend, my husband and I took a trip to Louisville Kentucky! Daniel, my three year companion, planned our fun little getaway and didn't tell me where we were going until I was in the car! Of course I knew we were going away for two nights. I also knew we were driving within four hours. He had previously mentioned Pittsburgh and Traverse City... So I really was not expecting Kentucky. I am hard to surprise but somehow Daniel found a way!

We arrived at our Bed and Breakfast Friday evening just in time to check in. We found ourselves in an old, beautiful, stone mansion in a historic neighborhood in Louisville. At Central Park Bed and Breakfast we were welcomed by a jolly couple, ready to accommodate all our needs. We were shown where the snacks and drinks were, and offered some of Kentucky's famous bourbon. Every room in the house was decorated from top to bottom with beautiful and eclectic antiques. Many of the rooms had intricately designed wallpaper and lush velvet furniture.

Our cozy room, at the end of the hall was located on the third floor. Stained glass covered the lamps and ornate mirrors adorned the walls. Everything was the picture of Victorian type elegance. The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was also a perk!

Breakfast on both of our mornings at Central Park B&B were phenomenal. Our hostess was an incredible cook! Everything was delicious. We hardly needed any lunch! Be sure to check out Central Park's website: http://www.centralparkbandb.com/ and look them up if you are planning to visit Louisville!

These photos show our explorations of Waterfront Park where we visited the Fleur de Flea market. We also explored the neighborhood where our accommodations were located, the Old Historic Louisville. We wandered around downtown and ate at Feast BBQ. The last group of photos were from Cave Hill Cemetery, a historic burial ground covering over 300 acres and boasting of such famous occupants as Muhammed Ali and Colonel Sanders.

Overall, it was a lovely trip to celebrate our anniversary! I hope you enjoy seeing into our adventure!
