I had the pleasure of attending the Refresh and Renew Retreat a couple weekends ago. The goal of the weekend was “for us all to share our strengths, learn from our weaknesses, gain new knowledge and create lasting friendships along the way”. Organized by Emily Manders and Amanda Mifsud, the weekend was to be equal parts refreshing and challenging. Just what I needed after a busy season to start the year on the right foot!
Have I ever told you that the reception is my favorite part of the wedding day? The whole day is truly wonderful and rewarding. There is just something about the reception that makes me happy. I get to play with lighting. I get to document natural moments, not posed bodies. People finally relax after the stress and structure of making sure the rest of the day has gone the way it was planned. It is almost as if the bride and groom can breathe a sigh of relief when they sit down for dinner.
Commercial photography makes up a good portion of my business. I work with a variety of businesses and professionals in different fields. Some need branding images for their websites, some need social media content, and others are looking for headshots. Every business needs documentation of their product, service or professional faces. High quality commercial images play a large role in marketing to potential clients. I really enjoy being able to offer this service to Toledo area businesses. I love getting to know more about other professions and brands as I work with them on their commercial photos.
"Family is family, whether it's the one you start out with, the one you end up with, or the family you gain along the way." One of my favorite things about working with families is that I get to see the diversity of what family looks like for each one of my clients. For some, family is just two. For others, family is furry. Some have big families, small families, blended families, single parent families. Some are family by blood, some family by choice. I enjoy celebrating all types of family!
We have had a special promotion running this month! February has been deemed FLUFF-uary! The whole month has been focusing on pets! I have decided to give away a pet photography session to one lucky winner! All entrants were required to post their pet with a brief bio on our Facebook page. Now how do they win? A.J. graduated from Findlay High School last spring! A.J. is a super hard worker and he loves playing rugby! He has a classic style but we had to work on some jokes to get a genuine smile out of him. Overall we had a great time exploring Riverbend Park in Findlay and taking his pictures. For the last part of our session, we headed to the sports field where A.J. and his team play rugby. I think it is so great that A.J. chose to play a less common sport, and a tough one at that!
