Emily and Damon are expecting...

and so is Maci!

Emily and Damon got married last spring and found out shortly after, they were expecting. While, for some, this seems like the typical order of events, Emily and Damon had been taking steps to not have children until further down the road. This little one was quite a surprise! It seems, life rarely goes according to our plans. This is a perfect example of a couple doing everything they can to plan and organize life into their ideal... and still having it come out differently!

Emily and Damon have fully embraced their unexpected parenthood and are truly enjoying the process. Showers have been thrown, a nursery has been decorated, and the time has come. Emily is due any day and they are very excited to meet their new baby girl!

About two years ago Emily and Damon adopted this sweet little Pit Bull, Maci! She was eight weeks old when Emily took her home and she instantly became an important part of the family. Maci was adopted through the Lucas County Pit Crew. The Pit Crew specializes in finding homes for Pit Bull Terriers in the Lucas County area. They are a wonderful organization that advocates for the ethical treatment of Pit Bulls and all dogs!

In case you haven't noticed, I love having pets join in my photography sessions! They are a big part of many families, so their lives should be documented and cherished as well! Emily was concerned that Maci might not cooperate during the session. Maci is full of energy and sometimes has a mind of her own! What young pup doesn't? But we got some wonderful shots with her!

I asked Emily how they were preparing Maci for the baby and she said, "We let her sniff the baby things and play with the things we will be using for her and leaving them out for her to get comfortable around". It sounds like they have a good plan to make the transition comfortable for everyone!
