Chloe & Scarlet from The Mutt Hutt Dog Bakery. Homemade Dog Treats in Toledo Ohio.

From Rebecca:
I am always on the lookout to network with other local businesses in the pet industry. There are so many people in the Toledo area who adore their animal companions. They deserve to know about all the local creators and entrepreneurs working to stand out among the giant corporations. Jessica and I decided that this year is going to be about our dream to expand and enrich the pet community in Northwest Ohio.
I found Mutt Hut’s booth at the Toledo Night Market in December. I loved seeing the cute treat combinations and home baked creations from Chloe. We connected on Instagram and I asked if she would consider collaborating for FLUFF-uary. Chloe loved the idea and knew she had to include her dog, Scarlet in the photos. Obviously we needed someone to taste the treats in the photos.
The Mutt Hut has such fun Valentine’s Day themed goodies, you have to check them out on her website! Please enjoy these photos of Chloe and Scarlet.
From Chloe:
Tell us a little about yourself and Scarlet. Hi my name is Chloe! I’m a UT Business grad who loves to stay busy. I currently work in marketing at RE/MAX Preferred Associates, at 41K9 dog daycare in downtown Toledo, & I run my own dog bakery business! My number one taste tester Scarlet is a 1.5 y/o bulldog, boxer, lab mix. She loves playing in the hose, doing zoomies with her daycare friends, & eating all the treats she can. Her favorite place to visit is Jake & Cooper’s Bark Park.
How did you get started making dog treats? I started baking dog treats shortly after getting my dog Scarlet. I quickly realized how hard it is to find safe and natural food and treats on store shelves or even online, so I started making her treats at home. I fell in love with baking treats for her and the family dogs and being able to get creative with the treats, my logo, & business marketing.
How do you include Scarlet in your brand? Scarlet is the main face of the business! She can be seen as the black boxer mix in my logo and sometimes featured on my page along with her uncle Archie, an old man Westie. They love to try all of my new creations.
What are your goals for your business moving forward? My goal is to be able to open up a cute local shop one day; somewhere to treat your pups, get fun healthy snacks, and have doggy birthday parties. For now I make treats to order through my website or social media, as well as attend different events around the Toledo area.
What would you like to see, grow, or change in the Toledo pet community? I would love for there to be more dog-friendly activities & events in Toledo; fun pop-ups, festivals, dog park events. More collaborations with pet businesses would be nice too. We also need more healthy dog treat shops.
What was it like working with Rebecca and Jessica in the studio? I loved working with Rebecca and Jessica in their studio! They had great ideas and were so patient with my dog. She was super anxious and slowly they were able to warm her up to them and the space after many treats, lol.
