Last fall I did family portraits for Damon and Emily. Both of their daughters were present but Kinsley was not actually born yet. Harper was still enjoying life as an only child. It is so amazing to see families come back each year with new members. Damon and Emily had Harper as a surprise shortly after getting married and Kinsley was a second surprise as well. Despite not being planned, these two girls have the greatest parents who jumped right in and owned their roles as mom and dad.

I enjoy watching how Damon and Emily interact with their daughters. They seem to have a wonderful balance of love and tenderness while being on top of teachable moments and discipline. How cute are the photos of Damon with Harper? She clearly adores her father. Adjusting to a new sibling can be a little bit hard for kids. Damon and Emily have done a great job of walking with Harper through it and making sure she knows she is still just as important to them.

How long have you been married? We have been married for a little over 3 years.
What do you does Damon do? Damon is a mechanic at Jeep.
What does Emily do? Emily works in the operating room as an RN.
About Harper? Harper is 2. Harper is very much like me, moving all of the time and very strong willed. She loves giving kisses and hugs and being silly!
About Kinsley? Kinsley is 6 months. Kinsley also seems fairly strong willed, but loves to be cuddled up with someone. She seems to be a silly one as well, giggling much at funny noises and learning how to do them herself.
What do you love to do together as a family? As a family we love to just sit and relax, which we rarely do! We love to take walks and take the girls on bike rides as well as sitting around a fire with many family members. We love to be goofy and laugh.
Why did you choose to work with a professional photographer? We chose to work with a professional photographer because the girls are only going to be little for so long and we want to be able to look back at the stages that they went through.
