Jasmine & Gordo. Northwest Ohio Pet Photographer. Simpson Garden Park.
From Rebecca:
I am revisiting some older work that I had sitting in my blog drafts folder. How could I overlook Gordo? He is so cute! Documenting senior pets is very important to me. As I see my own dogs aging, I can imagine how important their photos will be when they are gone. We don’t get as many years as we would like, but we can choose to capture their time with us through photos.
My husband and I lived in Bowling Green for three years while he was in school. I got to know the local parks, and I am always excited to have a client who wants to have photos done at Simpson Garden Park. The park has many types of flowers, a variety of trees and plants, and some uniquely designed areas. Gordo looked good in every setting and every color.
From Jasmine about Gordo:
Where did you get him? I got him while living in Las Vegas. He was not a rescue. A woman and her husband had toy poodles and bred them at their home. I met Gordo’s mom and dad in their home.
How old was he when you brought him home? He was a little over 6 weeks old when I brought him home.
How did you choose his name? The breeders spoke Spanish and called him Gordito (fat little one) because he was the biggest puppy of the litter. He was the last one left because no one wanted the big puppy. I shortened it to Gordo but call him Gordito a lot, too.
How old is he now? He’s 15 as of January 10th.
What 3 words would you use to describe his personality? Intelligent, protective and loving.
What is his favorite toy? Right now, his favorite toy is a stuffed dragon. Sometimes it’s a stuffed triceratops.
What do you enjoy doing together? I like taking Gordo on car rides and hikes. We travel a lot together. He loves being in the car.
A favorite memory of him or a hard time that he helped you get through? He’s gotten me through a lot of life transitions. I was 25 when I got him and now I’m 41. We’ve moved a lot and he’s been around for most of my important life experiences since after graduating college.
Why is it meaningful to have professional images of him? He’s getting older and I know he won’t be around forever so I wanted to have nice pictures of him. He’s been the most important guy in my life for a long time.
What stood out to you about your experience with Rebecca? She got great pics of him and was very patient. I can tell she was comfortable working with all types of dogs.
