Welcome Associate Jessica to Rebecca Trumbull Photography.
Big announcement! Some of you might have noticed Jessica popping up more and more in my behind the scenes clips. Well, Rebecca Trumbull Photography officially has a new member. Jessica has been assisting me since the very beginning. Jessica happens to be my sister-in-law and we have developed a great friendship and working relationship.
This woman is one of the most hard working people I know. I decided that I would regret not taking the chance to keep her around and I asked her in May to become a bigger part of my business. Jessica has dabbled in photography for a while but decided she was interested in learning more to practice in a professional manner.
Right now, Jessica is working in the office with me a few days a week. She helps keep us on track with social media, blog posts, pinterest and more. She is also working hard to hone her photography skills and transition from apprentice to full associate. This means she will have the skills and training to photograph clients on her own while maintaining this brand’s quality and professional experience.
Anyone who knows me, knows how much I value being good at what I do. Trusting someone else to take on a big role in my business was a little scary at first. But I have a desire to grow this business and to serve a larger clientele base. Making the choice to bring in an associate who cares just as deeply about being good at what she does, working hard, and creating lasting memories for clients is the logical next step for this business.
Join me in giving Jessica a warm welcome and keep reading to learn more about her!
Get to know Jessica:
How long have you been working with Rebecca? How did you get started? What ways have you worked with her previously? I have been working with Rebecca pretty much since the beginning of her business. I started working with her in 2014 so about 7 years ago. The first photoshoot I did with her was actually high school senior photos of one of my brothers. I have worked with Rebecca as her assistant, this means equipment setup and teardown, wrangling dogs and children, and doing any other things that help make a job go smoothly.
What made you interested in photography and what do you enjoy about it? I have always been interested in art, and to me photography is another form of art. Taking a good photo involves so much more than most people will ever realize there is only so much that editing can do to save you if you take a bad photo with the wrong settings or angle. Photography is a challenge to capture a subject as they are and to show someones personality in one image. I love the idea that the photos we take can help to preserve the memories of a loved one long after they are gone.
What made you say yes to becoming a bigger part of the business? I said yes to becoming a bigger part of the business because photography is something that I truly enjoy doing and want to continue to get better at. I can’t think of anything better than having a job that I love doing and working with someone that I respect both professionally and personally.
What role do you have now and hope to have in the future? I currently hold the role of an apprentice working under Rebecca to learn the trade. This includes, continuing to working as an assistant, learning to help with social media management, as well as working to improve my photography skills. I hope to be able to soon fully embrace the role of associate and work independently under Rebecca’s brand.
What are your favorite subjects to work with? Well obviously it has to be pets! Actually I enjoy working with every subject, the variety of clients we get is part of what makes this job so exciting and fun.
Why do you and Rebecca make a good team? Rebecca and I make a great team because we both love what we do. We are both committed to insuring that our clients have the best experience possible and walk away with the best of what we have to offer. We work well together because Rebecca has always encouraged me and given me opportunity’s to grow.
All photos were taken at the Rebecca Trumbull Photography Photo Studio in Sylvania Township.
